Just in case you hadn't heard:

Folk artists Heather Dale and Ben Deschamps are stopping in NC to play a little House Concert at our place. If you aren't familiar with their music I urge you visit http://www.heatherdale.com/ I describe Heather's music as a blend of celtic myth and medieval history, with a unique progressive folk awesomness unto itself.

Suggested donation is $10/person at the door to help support the artists and offset some of their travel. We also invite you to bring drinks or snacks to share.

Please  RSVP on the Facebook event if you plan to come. We only have room for 30 or so people. More than that gets really cozy. Seating is limited. Be prepared to stand or sit on the floor.

We hope everybody had an enjoyable summer. We have certainly been busy with shows and new stuff. We are now conducting business as "Kirsten Vaughan Designs", but may still use the Camelot Treasures name at various shows and functions. Our focus is mostly costuming - medieval, fantasy, renaissance, steam-punk, etc. We'll still be hosting birthdays, doing music, and historical educational programs. The web page will reflect all this soon.

COSTUME COMMISSIONS - Kirsten has been taking lots of orders lately. If you are looking for custom costuming of any kind - cloaks, wizard robes, medieval dresses and tunics, etc please contact her directly at aenor@ipass.net. Halloween and the Carolina Renaissance Festival are not far away.

NEW EFENWEALT CD - Scott has a new CD out under his Efenwealt Wystle name. This one is a collection of medieval songs from around the year 1200 - many with wonderful, singable translations in modern english. Scott performs on recorders, krumhorns, guitar, and harp, with additional vocals by Kirsten. The CD is available from us, or at

Happy New Year Everybody! A big thanks to everybody who did their holiday shopping with us, or sent friends and family in to shop for you! Every box of mints and pair of socks you buy helps us bring more fantastic fun to the Triangle.

2009 will have some big changes for us. We're are likely to be shrinking the store back to one space, or add in a coffee bar. If you have experience in running a small coffee shop, or have money to invest in such a thing, let us know. We might also be interested in sub-leasing space to crafters, artists, jewelers or such. Talk to us if interested. I'm picking up some part-time work so you'll probably see less of me (Scott) at the store, but we plan to endure.

And now, the news...

Christmas merchandise, Nightmare Before Christmas, candleholders, garden accessories, windchimes, Knight Lights, picture frames, book ends, wine bottle stoppers, glassware, banners, mirrors, etc.

Many of you may know that Kirsten and I moonlight as the wiz-rock band "The Blibbering Humdingers." For you un-initiated, wizard rock loosely means "songs about Harry Potter". It's more than filk, and less than normal.

We recently contributed a track to a charity compilation called 'Siriusly Smiling'. Our song "Dobby, Bang Your Head"has the honored position of being the 1st in the tracklist, and we're very proud of it. Also featured on the collection are Gred & Forge, Peeved, Harry & the Potters, Draco & the Malfoys and other wiz-rock greats.

All proceeds from the sale of the compilation go to National Foundation for Facial Reconstruction. The NFFR addresses the plight of children with a facial disfigurement by supporting state-of-the-art treatment, innovative research, psychosocial support and medical training that inspires a new generation of pediatric doctors.

Support a worthy cause. Listen to some very fun wizard rock. Spread the love. Click here to download the collection.
